About This Blog & Me…
This is my public journal. Here you will find a bits and pieces of anything I feel that is interesting. Mainly recommendations, reviews and the occassional contemplation. Reviews are mainly for shows I’ve watched~ I’ve just completed a masters in publishing & editing, and currently working towards tesol certification. I hold a degree in history and literature (mainly British). I am a voracious reader, huge musical fan and a copious tea consumer. I can understand three languages at varying proficiency and have dabbled to a lesser extent in a couple of others. I aspire to go into a line of work that involves helping & inspiring people; and I dance.
Shows I like: I watch pretty much anything that piques my interest and has good plot and characterisation, romance and witty humour do earn extra brownie points though~ Stuff I’m not so into are horror, revenge and reality shows (aside from talent ones like So You Think You Can Dance~ but stuff like Big Brother and Survivor are stupid). I don’t want to waste my time watching a bunch of people bitching and backstabbing each other.
Books-wise: I love historical and paranormal romances, psychological thrillers, travel literature, fantasy, steampunk, cyberpunk and fiction about diaspora. I am also interested in character studies and psychology. My manga preferences are of the shoujo, josei, seinen and slice-of-life kind.
My rating system is simple, 5 points for books, 10 points for viewing material. I hardly give full marks to things because nothing is so perfect, though some may come close~
